Common Questions

Does CodeIME require Full Access?

No. CodeIME does not require keyboard Full Access.

Are my keystrokes or commands sent to a server?

No. CodeIME does not collect, store, or transmit keystrokes, commands, predictions, or usage data. Command predictions are local and rule-based.

How do terminal arrow keys work?

CodeIME inserts common ANSI escape sequences for arrow keys. Terminal apps that accept those sequences can interpret them as navigation input.

How do Ctrl and Alt work?

Tap Ctrl or Alt to make the next key use that modifier. You can also hold Ctrl while tapping another key, such as C, to insert the matching control character.

Why does a shortcut not work in every app?

iOS third-party keyboards can insert text, control characters, and ANSI sequences where the target app accepts them. They cannot send true global hardware key events system-wide.
