In short: Daysgone has no account and does not collect or upload your photos, face features, or any usage data. It has no ads, tracking, or analytics. Everything is processed on your device.
Based on reference faces you choose, Daysgone ranks photos on your iPhone or iPad. You review each one and, after you confirm, the photos are set to the system's Hidden state. The face recognition model is built into the app; no cloud recognition service is used. Similarity is not proof of identity, and not every photo is guaranteed to be found.
The app never sends photos, face features, photo identifiers, or activity records to the developer or any third party. There is no account, advertising, tracking, or analytics SDK, and the app doesn't use location, camera, microphone, or contacts.
This doesn't affect Apple's own services: for example, if iCloud Photos is on, photos and their hidden status sync through Apple according to Apple's policies.
Reference photos are chosen with the system photo picker, which shares only the photos you pick. Scanning and hiding need Read and Write access to Photos; you can deny, allow only some photos, or allow all photos, and change this anytime in Settings.
The app treats accessible photos as your personal library. If they include an iCloud Shared Library, hidden photos are hidden for other members too. The app excludes shared albums and read-only items that the system identifies, but it can't guarantee excluding every shared-library photo.
This data is excluded from device backups and protected with iOS file protection. Photo previews are kept only in memory.
You can clear reference faces, the index, and all activity history in About & Privacy in the app. This doesn't delete photos or change their hidden state. Deleting the app also removes this local data.
Daysgone is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
